The first eco-friendly “Żabka” container store focuses on innovation for nature!

As the latest Climate Change research conducted by Havas Media Poland has shown, climate problems are more and more important for Poles. This translates into their actions and expectations for global brands. Some of them pick up their gloves and begin to act vigorously for the benefit of Mother Nature. In Poland, “Żabka” is a pioneer of innovative eco-solutions. The company opened its first store in Warsaw, based on our commercial pavilion, which uses 100% renewable energy. You can feel a breath of modernity from the entrance!

In Warsaw at ul. Lewandów 46H, the first pro-ecological “Żabka” was launched, which is fully energy self-sufficient. The created commercial container, adapted to a small shop that will use renewable energy sources, is the company's response to the expectations of consumers and the sense of obligation to care for the welfare of our planet.

The Warsaw eco-”Żabka” is a kind of laboratory where the company tests solutions in the following areas:

  • Green energy (the store is powered, among others, by solar and wind energy).
  • Green transport (in the vicinity, the modular container has a parking lot for bicycles and a bicycle repair station as well as chargers for electric cars).
  • Clean air (using plants and innovative technologies in the form of dust-absorbing paving stones).
  • Circular economy.

“Żabka” aims to reduce the carbon footprint, reuse valuable raw materials and reduce the negative impact of humans on the environment. It all starts at the basics by choosing modular construction.

“Żabka” is green by nature - an innovative retail pavilion

At first glance, it seems that this “Żabka” store in Warsaw is no different from many others we have visited. It turns out, however, that this green laboratory in the form of a module store tests 20 environmentally friendly and customer-friendly solutions. Among them there are:

  • A kinetic floor that generates energy when walking. This is the first such installation in Poland.
  • Intelligent louvred refrigerator doors that optimize energy consumption. They have been designed and created especially for the needs of eco-”Żabka”.
  • Quantum dots mounted on panes allow you to obtain solar energy falling on transparent windows. The energy obtained is used to illuminate the entire store. “Żabka” is the third company in the world to test such a solution.
  • The electricity used in the store comes from solar energy, which, thanks to storage, is used around the clock.
  • “Żabka” is also testing electric cars and encouraging customers to use them by placing chargers in the parking lot. The store offers two 3.7 kW charging points; 7.4 kW; 11 kW; 22 kW alternating current (AC). Additional promotion for eco-transport is a bicycle repair station.
  • An eco-machine for bottles and cans has been installed in front of the store. Packaging can be re-created from the collected raw materials. The incentive to use the eco-machine are loyalty points in the Żappka application - for each bottle or can you give, you get 10 żapps. According to the portal www.android.com.pl, by the end of the first quarter of 2021, “Żabka” will launch 15 such devices.
  • Individual elements of “Żabka's” equipment are made of ecological or recycled materials - such as a cash register box or a wall made of 1000 PET bottles of beverages.
  • In eco-”Żabka”, we can power our phone thanks to the bench with solar panels installed.

“Żabka” modular store is booming - literally!

The facade of the modular store is a green anti-smog shield. The vertical garden produces oxygen, absorbs harmful compounds from the air and dust. It also looks beautiful! Water for watering plants comes from the rainwater storage - a 2,200-liter tank is installed under the store. The interconnected containers therefore not only create an ideal usable space but also a mass of pro-ecological solutions that can be "packed" around them.

The paving stones surrounding “Żabka” absorb dirt. This allows minimizing the concentration of nitrogen oxides in the air by an average of about 50% compared to asphalt.

“Żabka” will make you an eco freak!

The “Żabka” company conducts a number of pro-ecological activities that are in line with the principles of sustainable development. A modular store that uses 100% energy from renewable sources or placing information on the proper segregation of rubbish on its own products is just some of the activities it undertakes.

“Żabka” is eco-friendly and it also encourages its franchisees and customers to do so. As Anna Gorączka, Green officer at “Żabka” Polska said in an interview with the franczyzainfo.pl portal:

  • We believe that you do not need much to build good ecological habits, just a small step - every day. We help people to be better every day.

The new year brings new challenges and new opportunities. We are waiting for the next eco-projects of Żabka Zielona by nature! Who knows, maybe a nature-friendly shop will be created in your city, built on the basis of commercial containers?
